No, I've not seen similar crashes in Red Hat Enterprise Linux or in
Fedora.
From the varied reports, I haven't actually seen one that definitely
uses the auto-shutdown feature, so I'm not sure the destroy/remove thing
is relevant. In fact, with several reports it seems to be with the
default

From those numbers It looks like upower is calculating the percentage
based on engery-full-design which was the original capacity of your
battery rather than the current energy-full.
Reassigning to upower since gnome is just doing what its told. Could
well be a kernel bug though.

That looks like video corruption, and it is possible that gnome-classic
has some of the animations disabled compared to gnome-shell, but I can't
think of any other difference.
.xsession-errors is obsolete, logs will by default be in
~/.cache/upstart/gnome-session-GNOME.log under upstart boot or
Lance, gnome-classic is gnome-shell with a bunch of extensions, so for
classic to work and Shell not does seem odd. Was the issue in gnome-
shell repeatable or a one of crash?
