I am seeing the same behaviour with Ubuntu 14.04.3, Kernel 3.19.0-26-generic, x86_64, as soon as I mark some text in Writer and copy it to the clipboard. Sometimes, I cannot switch to the console at all, sometimes I can. In either case, I need to hard-shutdown the machine. In all cases, I can find
