I have just tried running firefox from the firefox-nightly download and all
runs well using that version
125.0a1 (2024-03-17) (64-bit).
I assume the beta3 you speak of is the new version of apparmor; is that
the same version as the current apparmor-proposed version?

I have seen the problem with firefox tabs crashing in the .deb installation
and when running direct from the downloaded .tar.bz from Mozilla.
Firefox opens but tabs show error saying "Tab crashed"
This has forced me to use the snap version which works fine though I prefer not
to use snaps at
Same here with Xubuntu 21.04 which I am running as a VM in KVM/QEMU and
have the same problem - almost.
If I type 1/2 it does not autocorrect to ½ unless I highlight it in the text
then go to Tools -> Autocorrect -> Apply when the change occurs.
However, if I try to repeat that with a second
I am using the latest PPA version
Version: 6.4.3.2
Build ID: 1:6.4.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
and in my system F1 or or LO Help from the menu opens firefox, my default
browser, though I have made no changes to the system to get it to do that.
I assume that this newest PPA version must have already
This morning at about 10:30 UTC I updated to cups-2.1.3-4ubuntu0.3 on my 64bit
Xubuntu-16.04 using kernel 4.4.0-92 and it has so far not stopped running.
My /etc/cups/cupsd.conf has the "WebInterface Yes" entry but so far no problems
at all, though I had no problems with the
An update to my post #36.
I can now confirm that the problem is solved for me; cups no longer
stops running after a few minutes, and once again I am able to access
,localhost:631 without the need to start cups running again.

Same problem affects my installation of Xubuntu-16.04.1 64bit system.
I have enabled proposed and updated all the many cups packages in that
repository and then disabled proposed again.
I think this has solved my problem of cups stopping running but will have to
report back after running for

I have just installed the 64 bit version of your new unity-greeter and
it has overcome the typing of password problem.
It has added a minor display problem for a second or two after typing
password and hitting enter, with the screen showing a random pattern
instead of the greeter background image
Having repeatedly restarted my VirtualBox installation of Ubuntu 64bit with the
new unity-greeter package installed from post 10 above, the graphic problem
seems to have now disappeared completely, and typing the password is still
possible.
This would seem to be a solution to the problem for
I first saw this after the updates to Lubuntu 14.04 yesterday morning
March 13 10:15GMT. In my case it is only the Lubuntu 32bit system that
is affected, not Xubuntu or Ubuntu both of which are 64 bit.
I posted the problem to Ubuntuforums
Here is the crash report file from/var/crash which was created earlier
today.
