Still no time to replace my piece of crap.
Tested with kernel 3.9.1(Debian testing) . Same situation.
cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k3.9-1-amd64.
Also compiled latest driver module from RT. And this just broke my
linux.

Some time ago I wrote a mail to Realtek regarding our issue but there is
still no answer.
I'm tired of this problem.
There is absolutely no support from Gigabyte or Realtek . Also
workaround with grey-out didn't fix the problem with 7.1 speakers
If there is no fix soon I will burn my MB whic

Issue is fixed in rev 1.1. This is confirmed from multiple users. So, if
you have this revision you are lucky :)
What about rev 1.0?
So, for the first rev of this MB (1.0) , issue is still not fixed with
latest driver or with 12.10.

I've installed latest drivers from Realtek , not the standard ALSA drivers.
Issue was not fixed with these drivers - nothing changed for me.
