I'm living with the same bug with i915 driver:
- Happens in all Ubuntu versions with Kernel higher than version 3.16.x
- Screen freezes randomly, often when watching videos or scrolling through
webpages with a lot of graphics. For testing I ran a Youtube Playlist and the
system always froze
Having had the issue with 14.04, 15.04 and 15.10 (also on fresh installed
system).
Only propretary driver installed is bcmwl-kernel-source, no other system
modifications were done (graphics are Intel HD).
Problem also happens with disabled Firefox addons and doesn't not happen
at all without
I can confirm that. Still happens with Ubuntu 15.10 and Firefox 41.0. I needed
a long time to find out that Firefox causes it.
Deleting .mozilla folder and disabling add-ons doesn't help. Whenever I use for
example Midore and keep Firefox closed, no crashes happen.
I don't have Adobe Flash
