The status has improved significantly in ubuntu 17.10 with nvidia-384.111-0ubuntu0.17.10.1, but it is not perfect yet. At this moment I logout/login or lock while plugged to the dock and using multiple screens, works seemingly. Break downs occur at less than 5% Un-docking and docking success rate
