This is a problem when running a set of desktops with a traditional CUPS
server that advertises its printers. The desktops should see only the
server queues but by default they get duplicated (or even multiplicated
entries) because the printers also advertise themselves.
The setting suggested by
Setting:
gfx.work-around-driver-bugs
to False seems to make this work.

Strange as this sounds I went to try the solution above on a different
computer with the same Ubuntu version (16.04) and didn't work - device
appeared as mass storage. The line that worked was this one:
ATTR{idVendor}=="12d1", ATTR{idProduct}=="1f01",
RUN+="/usr/sbin/usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p
Fix seems be fine on 14.04. After a couple of hours of use I'm
experiencing neither warnings nor problems playing videos.

Agree with reporter's common: on an LTS Firefox should remain linked to
gtk-2.0. Otherwise gtk3-engines-oxygen and co need to be fixed.

Libreoffice has an option that enables generation of individual jobs per

The problem is still present on Kernel 3.11.4-031104-generic, from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.11.4-saucy, that I
installed on Ubuntu 12.04.3.
Possible workaround is creating /etc/modprobe.d/asus.conf with
