reply to comment #6: in fact it was a clean and fresh install, so my
best guess is there's something wrong in the development side.
there were no changes in the default handler for directories on my side
(user).

I'm not able to test once I deal with i386 only.
But now the bug is invalid, won't fix or need to test on the current

Jarno Suni,
in reply to #11 and #13:
a) you need to be logged in, then follow the steps:
- lock the screen with "Shutdown > Lock Screen" ;
- on lightdm screen, just do ctrl+alt+F7 : you arrive on the desktop, without
typing any password.
b) althought the webupd8 article mentioned Ctrl + Alt + 7
find attached the lightdm log.

hi,
i've just done a fresh install of Lubuntu saucy 13.10 and I can confirm
that lightdm is not keeping the system locked.
Comment #8 is correct.
- lock the screen with "Shutdown > Lock Screen" ;
- on lightdm screen, just do ctrl+alt+F7 : you arrive on the desktop, without
typing any password.
Bug affects me too: saucy daily 20130825.
workaround from comment #7 works for me too.

Once Xscreensaver is not used to lock the screen on saucy, we need to
fix the shortcut to launch the correct command.
