after experimenting with different slideshows: it does change somehow,
there are some videos that work fine now, others show green patches
instead and some still show the same error than with the old packages.

Is the upstream package the same as in the ppa? If yes, the bug is still
present after updating LO per ppa. If necessary I can test the newest
package from the LO Site as well.
The same applies to the snap package, the bug is present.

it used to be possible to change the rigts from "print-settings" to read
only but under ubuntu 16.04 evince overwrites the file even if the
rights are set to read only.

I have the same problem on a T450s running ubuntu 14.04. i installed
kernel 3.17 and 4.0rc4 nothing changed.
The fancy stuff is not important for me but if there is a solution could
