Firefox shows a blank band at the bottom the same width as the top

had the mesa PPA installed as an attempt to find if the issue was
related to the graphics drivers so that's why the PPA is shown.

website. Everything used to work decently until a couple of day ago when
I started seeing the external monitor very slow. I was on 21.04 and
after an update it has started being slow.

Audio works as supposed, I have just to switch from speakers to headphones in
the audio panel inside the settings page if I have headphones

Switching to another display manager like lightdm or sddm solves the problem.
I've a Dell Inspiron with Intel U620 graphic card.
The problems happens with the laptop display alone but also with external

Marcello, your workaround does indeed work because Xu and Lu flavours
use a window manager other than Mutter in Gnome. I myself had to revert
back to Unity.

After yesterday update to 5.0.0-23-generic of the linux-generic-
hwe-18.04 kernel every vulkan applications (e.g. steam or vulkan-

Hi Daniel, thanks for your prompt reply.
Good to see that this problem is fixed in future versions of Ubuntu.
Indeed it would be nice to see it in 18.04, I'm not a member of the project
therefore I can't do "Nominate for series" but I hope someone does nominate it
as the issue seems relatively
