FYI: I have the some problem as Doug mentioned (fresh install of Xubuntu
24.04, although it's the .1 release), but I do not have deep technical
knowledge, so I don't think I'd be able to implement any kind of
workaround.
Does anybody know if and when the problem will be fixed (and if I can

a strong dependency in Ubuntu, so we don't inadvertently stop shipping

I've tested this again with the updated instructions:

We do not want policykit to use the unmaintainable mozjs backend. That
would be a hard NACK from the Security Team.
The duktape backend has been merged upstream. So in order to sync this
to Ubuntu, the following must be done:
1- Get Debian to switch to the duktape backend
2- Get Debian to transit
I have the same issue on Windows 11, Chrome/Edge freezing for about 3-4
seconds when you save any file to disk. This started a few days ago.
