No way to empty
You will find attached the requested .xsession-errors file. There is
not much info in it.
This was a new installation on April 14 using the current daily build
liveCD.
Before logging in to Classic, I had already logged in several times to
Unity.
Is there some Update Manager update/upgrade

is 4 workspaces side by side.
Logout and login.
You are back to the default 1 workspace setting.
Note that this default is poorly displayed as 4 mini workspaces.

Note that merely updating and upgrading an older beta version with

I was being polite by phrasing this BUG as a question.
Sweeping it under the carpet does the entire Ubuntu community a
considerable disservice.
Please resolve this prior to the April production release of Ubuntu

The response to password entry is immediate. Nautilus is launched, the
mouse pointer then changes to busy (circular) and stays busy for 15-20
