Same problem here with HP LaserJet 4350 (I know it's a different printer but this is the most related post I've found and it solved my problem). I've edited the ppd and changed: *DefaultHPOption_Duplexer: False into *DefaultHPOption_Duplexer: True

Config: - ubuntu 8.04 - HP OfficeJetPro 8500 (909a) - network-connected Duplex printing used to work with HPLIP 3.9.2. Uninstalling (http://hplipopensource.com/node/188) and re-installing HPLIP 3.9.2 is workaround. Is this a regression ?
