The F5/F6 brightness keys no longer work, and the screen will blank
about 10s after I use or . I have to reboot to get the
screen back.
This didn't seem to be a problem before kernel 4.2, but not sure if it
was working on earlier 4.2 kernels (when I boot earlier 4.2 versions

My wife has had this problem for some time on a HP Compaq nc 6320
running Lubuntu 14.10.
I'm now getting it on my ASUS X401A with Lubuntu 14.10 ...so now its
personal!

to work.
On Lubuntu its start menu > Preferences > Language Support > Keyboard

I have the same problem on Lubuntu.
When using gEdit I frequently lose the mouse pointer (when I move the mouse the
pointer flickers very briefly but is mostly invisible). My cpu temp rises
rapidly from <50 to >70'C and I get 100%cpu utilisation due to the two
processes: ibus-daemon and ibus-x1
Same here, been like it for well over a year.
I have worked around it with USB dongles but have a (Windows) machine
here that is virused (locked) and need to get my friend's wedding photos
off it - but it destroyed two dongles.
A disc would have helped greatly - fortunately I have an 11.10 disk b
