This issue is not fixed. Today, i changed to Firefox Deb package for the
experiment. Zoom to pinch works for deb package from Mozilla PPA. Its
also works for Gnome Web. I am on the Wayland session.

I guess if the intention were to read and display groups without
changing them, there would not be an 'add group' feature at all or it
would not be possible to change groups by drag&drop.
The problem might be related to libfolks. I think libfolks use all
backends read only and if the change group
