Public bug reported:

1) Description:    Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release:        12.04

2) gnome-screensaver:
  Installed: 3.4.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.4.1-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.4.1-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) From a Python program called sitquietly
(https://launchpad.net/sitquietly) the following calls are made:

        self.bus = dbus.SessionBus()
                        self.scrSvr =
bus.get_object('org.gnome.ScreenSaver','/org/gnome/ScreenSaver')
                        self.scrSvr.SimulateUserActivity()

As part of the execution of sitquietly with the previous lines of code
in I expect that the computer does not go to sleep.

4) What happens is that the screen saver is started, and then the computer goes
to sleep.
