Does the covert art still show in the lower left corner of the Rhythmbox
window? It seems to me that now it shows in the the upper bar, on the
right of the control buttons (play, next track, ...)

Yes the cover art is at the top now, and it displays the cover of the
first song without problem.
The problem with the radio persists: the cover of an album is displayed
when playing one of the radio stations.
