stops.
I've also tried to disable the 'Auto-Mute' but I didn't see any

Disabling "Auto-Mute Mode" switch with alsamixer emprove sound
experience during listening, but it's a workaround and not solution.
I'm still seeing fast volume UPDOWN, the problem is "fixed" because
output channels are always on, it would be great to have speakers muted
when i plug my earphones :

Workaround for me, was checking what was happening, I saw at sound settings
that headphones were showing up very fast (like the blink of an eye) as the
flickering happened. I plugged the headphones to their entrance, flickering
gone but sound only on them, then I plugged the headphones with micr
ac97 clock at 48000hz
does it help if you change the default sample rate to 48000hz
5.1 audio usually 48000 (dvd) but stereo music are usually 44100 (cd)

The same problems. Let me add details:
* Sound increases and decreases 2-3 times per second
* It's reproduced with "Analog Surround 5.1 output" setting in Phonon (System
Settings -> Multimedia -> Phonon
* It's NOT reproduced with "Analog Stereo Output"
