Michael Knopp, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from

The bug you have with choosing the integrated GPU is this one:

I would also appreciate it if you could comment there with the output

*First reboot- went fine
*Second reboot- stuck on screen with one small white dash in top right
*Forced reboot with power button
*Third Reboot- Went fine
*At this point I switched back to the AMD card in case another reboot wouldn't

Glad it works for you.
Can you please select the integrated gpu by giving this command:
sudo amdconfig --px-igpu
do 2-3 reboots and report if it works?
Thanks,

Nick,
By following the steps here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=12386383&postcount=536 I was able
to get everything working.
Thanks for your help along the way. I understand the struggle it is to
try to explain how to do things to an Ubuntu noob. ;)
If there is anything I can do for you
I'm not 100% sure now. When i have time next week I'm going to start
clean and try again.

If you are able to completely uninstall fglrx* packages and you still
get low graphics mode, then the problem is not on the fglrx package.
Are you sure you followed the instrauctions in my previous comment,
rebooted and still getting low graphics mode?

Michael Knopp, since we already have an apport-collect for Quantal, running
another apport-collect in Quantal would attach a lot of unnecessary logs.
Instead, could you please just attach the one log desired:
