Right now I'd just settle for working analog line in capture. Any more
ideas?

Title:
[S5000PSL, Creative CA0110-IBG, Pink
*** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices
card 0: Creative [HDA Creative], device 0: CA0110 Analog [CA0110 Analog]
Subdevices: 2/2
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
Subdevice #1: subdevice #1
the previous driver have two capture subdevices
seem line in is the subdevice 0 and Mic is subdevice 1
Mic and line in are connected to different audio input
Node 0x10 [Pin Complex] wcaps 0x40008b: Stereo Amp-In
Control: name=Line Capture Switch, index=0, device=0
ControlAmp: chs=3, dir=In, idx=0, ofs=0
Amp-In caps: ofs=0x00, nsteps=0x00, stepsize=0x00, mute=1
Amp-In vals: [0x80 0x80]
For anyone following, the referenced patch is not available in kernel
3.8. 3.11 does contain the patch.
However, after upgrading, analog capture still does not work. Instead,
on switching capture channels, I see capture write error (DMA or IRQ
trouble?) in dmesg and the capture application
you have to report to the author if dynamic adc switching does not work
i think the switching of capture source cannot be performed when you are
recording

Same card, same problem. No sound from the analog input port even
though the software thinks it is receiving data (i.e. ALSA is sending
silence).

The card used to work for me on Linux 3.0.4, and it looks like I am not the
only one experiencing this regression:
