I am seeing essentially the exact same problem, but far more frequently,
and I was also using Comcast's DNS. I tried changing the Network
Manager Settings to Automatic (DHCP) addresses only, and using
Google's DNS servers, but this did not resolve the issue. Commenting
out dns=dnsmasq does seem
Try this. Edit the connection using the Connection Editor and set IPv4
Settings | Method to Automatic (DHCP) addresses only instead of
Automatic (DHCP). Make sure 8.8.8.8 is still included in the
Additional DNS servers field.
Another thing to try is to disable the local forwarding nameserver.
