also note this was filed against 1.0.6, so should check if it got fixed
in 1.0.7. At least crtc is still not being checked for null so
guessing the issue is still relevant.

Maarten - since we're at release now, a null pointer check would
probably be simplest to sru. But why would
conf->crtc[0]->driver_private be null here?
