Well, I was previously unable to transcode anything in 13.04x64 and
2.6.1. Having shouted at GStreamer for a few weeks I enabled proposed
updates just now and I confirm it works on both my Galaxy Note GT-N7000
and several USB .is_audio_player enabled sticks using Mass Storage. Only

I tried the new package of Banshee from the PPA and I detect no problems
since the update : now Banshee doesn't crash, the conversion then the
import of the musics runs properly. I have the music on my IPod. It
seems to work! Anyone can confirm that?

Looking into banshee.log, the underlying problem seems to be the
following:
