I have a few questions and a couple suggestions. First, are you using fglrx, or the open source radeon driver? Would you mind attaching the output of the following "dmesg | egrep 'drm|radeon'" Generally issues like these are caused by broken/misloaded drivers. Also it would be interesting to see if
