Public bug reported: I am using Kubuntu 13.10 Beta 2 64-bit. I have an Nvidia graphics card.
I first tried to install the proprietary drivers through Additional Drivers (jockey-kde). I selected the driver, and clicked Activate. The Activate button became disabled, and nothing further happened, and the driver was not activated. I was still able to quit Additional Drivers by pressing Close. I then tried using jockey-text at the terminal. The command I used was: sudo jockey-text -e kmod:nvidia_319 The output was: ERROR:root:Could not find any typelib for AppIndicator3 Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/jockey-text", line 128, in <module> sys.exit(u.run()) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/ui.py", line 441, in run self.argv_options.confirm, False): File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/ui.py", line 676, in set_handler_enable self.backend(), 'set_enabled', {}, handler_id, enable) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/backend.py", line 98, in convert_dbus_exceptions return fn(*args, **kwargs) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/backend.py", line 90, in dbus_sync_call_signal_wrapper raise _h_exception_exc dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.AttributeError: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dbus/service.py", line 707, in _message_cb retval = candidate_method(self, *args, **keywords) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/backend.py", line 337, in _f_result_wrapper self._f_result = f() File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/handlers.py", line 485, in enable Handler.enable(self) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/handlers.py", line 263, in enable self.repository_sign_fp) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/backend.py", line 635, in install_package repository, fingerprint) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/jockey/oslib.py", line 258, in install_package class MyFetchProgress(apt.FetchProgress): AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'FetchProgress' The expected outcome was that the driver would be activated. ** Affects: jockey (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to jockey in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1234954 Title: jockey fails to activate driver Status in “jockey” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I am using Kubuntu 13.10 Beta 2 64-bit.
