after running into this problem infrequently, I enabled logging, and

I increased my ulimit on the # of files, and the renderer no longer
gives the Snap problem periodic

Chromium shows "aw snap" error o
The problem has not gone away for me. I'm on Precise (utill the next LTS
ugrade) AMD64 with Invidia. Today the Software center pushed out an
update to Chromium but I still get the aw snap on every page. I can't
open settings, plugins or any other page for that matter. Chromium
opens but I get Aw
For me, the bug also disappeared with the latest update.

I attached my backtrace here. I have the same issue as described in
comment #14. The result is "No Stack".
Instead a crash repport came up. I attached a screenshot of the XSession
error.

Despite running chromium-browser -g --no-sandbox, I don't get back to the
prompt. Any other suggestions on how I can make the browser crash to get the
SIGSEGV backtrace?

That is SIGINT, a Control-C on the keyboard, not a SIGSEGV. Did you stop it
with keyboard? You should have gotten a prompt naturally instead.
If you stopped it because it didn't stop itself, then the problem may be
the sandbox. Make sure to start the program with "--no-sandbox".

The "aw snap" is probably a crash. What do you see in "dmesg"?

Okay, so far it seems to be limited to Precise and amd64 and maybe
nvidia video.
I would like to see what the SEGV is at. Please apt-get update, upgrade,
install "chromium-browser-dbg" package.
Then, in a terminal, "chromium-browser -g".
(gdb) run
Then, at a crash,
(gdb) set logging file backt
