I suggest reopening this bug. It definitely still exists. I'm running
Trusty with all the usual packages up-to-date. I'm on a new Dell
Latitude E7450 with a Synaptics trackpad.

I don't have the original hardware anymore, and this is not reproducible
with my current laptop with the same settings.
