installed below, could you please bring it to package parity with mine
one-by-one, in between completely closing all LO instances, and reopening the
provided example file, and advise if still reproducible:
apt-show-versions -
I have just booted todays (2014-01-01) Ubuntu live ISO image (64-bit)
and it suffers from the same issue.

Re: #2. Removing the gtk package makes no difference and the error
remains.
Note that this error does not occur when opening MS .doc files.
