Downloaded LIbreOffice 4.2 and installed it.  Now, it seems to work. Too
bad the "default" LibreOffice for Ubuntu 12.04 is still the version 3.

Title:
  LibreOffice Impress /  Custom animation / Crash

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  My presentation worked well last week. Now it crashes (and I need it soon!). 
I have been able to open it in Read-only mode, and copied-pasted just one 
slide, which contains a custom animation, to generate a test.odp file. I saved 
it, but i t also crashes when I try to re-open it (the file is attached).
  I tried with Impress 4.1 and Impress 3. Same problem.
  See the log file below.
  Thanks in advance for any hint to solve this issue.
