I'm seeing this now for the first time after installing Vivid (Ubuntu GNOME 15.04, gnome-terminal 3.14.2-0ubuntu3). When not changing the default terminal size, the first console window opens correctly (80x24). But all subsequent windows (created with Ctrl- Shift-N) are just one character short (7

I'm still seeing this bug in Trusty. I can create a new profile with a custom size and when I switch to that profile, the size does not change. Though if I launch a new instance of gnome-terminal, specifying the profile with the launch, then the new window is the right size. -- You received this

After latest dist-upgrade, this is now fixed for me in trusty. gnome-terminal is still 3.6.2-0ubuntu1 I suspect this came with a compiz. per viwing my history.log, when i filed this bug I was probably running compiz-gnome at 0.9.11+14.04.20140305-0ubuntu1 . And i'm now running 0.9.11+14.04.20
