I have this problem as well - new in 14.10 (which has been a bear to get
the bugs irons out on my TP Yoga).

Just chiming in. Same problem on Yoga with intel graphics, running
gnome3. I can invert the built in screen fine although when I have an
external display plugged in as well. Also after inverting I get an
extra mouse pointer pointing down right below the functioning pointer.

But as you have the same problems, maybe these two bugs are related?

You use the Yoga which is quite similar to the Twist I am using. Maybe
the bug has to do something with the drivers then?
