The bug is not only triggered by LibreOffice: I managed to crash my
machine simply by putting load on it ("git gc --aggresive") and trying
to change Nautilus' preferences.

Happened to me again, this time by opening a file with Calc and with the
latest Kernel (3.19.0-27-generic #29~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Sun Aug 16
01:51:13 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux). When I tried to close
the application, the system froze again and I had to hard-shutdown it.

I am seeing the same behaviour with Ubuntu 14.04.3, Kernel
3.19.0-26-generic, x86_64, as soon as I mark some text in Writer and
copy it to the clipboard. Sometimes, I cannot switch to the console at
all, sometimes I can. In either case, I need to hard-shutdown the
machine.
In all cases, I can find
