Losing the state when using the network indicator sounds like a network-
manager bug, so I'm going to change this to affecting that package. The
issue when using a key could be caused by network-manager, the kernel,
or your system firmware depending on how it's implemented for your
machine.

I just add that the status light of the hardware key and the status
shown by the network indicator are tightly coupled (as they should be).
For example, when I turn wifi off using the indicator, the LED light on
the HW button switches its colour from white (signalling the ON status)
to the orange o
