Public bug reported: My sound via the hdmi port used to work fine. After updating to 14.04 (and not using hdmi for quite some time) I found the sound output didn't work even though the audio output was changed properly to hdmi. I'm not sure if it's related to the intel graphics that runs the hdmi or something else.
