Mind you, I have no clue as to how to apply any patches outside of the

Patch posted in debian bug worked for me after a small modification
(weston-shared -> wayland-cursor-shared):
+ owner /{,var/}run/user/*/wayland-cursor-shared-* rw,
No issues with recently-used.xbel permissions.

I applied the fix form here [https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=827335#54] and with that evince starts BUT with a
new error, that I think it's also apparmor related:
(evince:14816): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to read the recently used
resources file at '/home/carlo/.loca

like its apparmor related

I made some tests, and it also fails on wayland. I also changed the
system to the default icon theme and cursor icon but the problem still
persists.
