Then fully updated Absolutely nothing else done.. Note: this occurred both before & after the gdm3 update. What happens: Attempting to restart from either the gui or in terminal leads to a black screen with blinking cursor. Waiting does nothing. Going to tty1 shows wall of text, cursor just blinks there also. However if I go to tty7 then the shutdown immediately proceeds & finishes. What also works is instead of attempting shutdown normally going to tty2 & issuing command there. This is also reported to happen to Desktop nvidia gpu users whose hardware is better with nvidia drivers 3.40 or earlier, i.e. they can't use wayland either.
