On Ubuntu 18.04 using either Nouveau or NVIDIA's driver (from Ubuntu's "Additional Drivers" utility), when I select and apply a higher available refresh rate for my monitor (e.g: 240hz), the change is only applied to mouse movements, whereas if I drag applications' windows around I can clearly see their movement is still at the default 60hz. Linux Mint 19 with either the Cinnamon or MATE DE does *not* show this issue.
