Public bug reported:

Desktop completely freezes when inserting an sdcard with 2 partions 
(fat32+ext4) into the internal reader.
The mouse pointer is active, but everything else is freezed (windows, clock, 
etc).
I can switch to console with ctrl-alt-f3.
I can switch to login manager with ctrl-alt-f1 and I can login with another 
user without problems,
but if I try to login into the active user the login is successfull but I'm 
presented again with a freezed desktop.

This is reproducible and happens about one in five times i insert an
sdcard.

Could not be related, but when this happens I have an active Virtualbox
Linux VM.

Bios is updated to the latest available. System and drivers up-to-date
with apt.

I can't see any relevant information in the logs
