The test system was 19.10 in virtualbox. I removed almost every extensions, except for the built in ones (ubuntu dock, ubuntu appindicator, etc.). Gnome-shell uses ~200kB at the beginning. If I lock the screen and unlock it, the memory usage jumps to ~210kB. Repeatedly doing this, the memory usage
