It's a long standing problem. I can fix all the bugs and release a new version, but that will not get them to update the base to the new version. Please upgrade to the current version of duplicity. This will assure that any bugs fixed since your release are available and may fix your issue. Ple

The current Ubuntu version now is 0.8.08 which includes the fix mentioned, closing. The issue still exist in 19.10 and could be a candidate for a stable update in which case the specific serie can be targetted but it's rather low importance at the moment so not very likely to see an update on a non
