Public bug reported:

Column selection in a Calc spreadsheet is very slow under gtk3.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open the attached ODS file with LibreOffice Calc in gtk3 mode.

("Help > About LibreOffice" should show "VCL: gtk3". If not, "export
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3" and start libreoffice from terminal)

2. Try to select the entire columns A:G.
--> The selection is very slow.

3. Open the ODS file in "gen" mode, then select columns A:G.
("export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen" and start libreoffice from terminal)
--> The selection is fast.

This bug was initially reported on the LibreOffice bugzilla, but it is
suspected to be specific to Ubuntu 18.04 and gtk3, so I raise this issue here.
