Dunno if it is relevant, i am running ubuntu 20.04 set to german

files look ok according to ls.
hcw@nvidion:~/tmp$ locale
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=de_DE:en_US:en
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=de_DE.UTF-8
Affects me too. I have 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.
The bug only reveals in "Show Symbol" view of nautilust, list view seems

Please see the attached image. The 2 files immediately after the folder
were not created or edited today. Also, as I type this, it isn't even
10am, but you see that the archive's date of 5:46PM is incorrectly
sorted.
** Attachment added: "The two files immediately under the folder were NOT
ok, closing then, feel free to reopen if you hit it again

Close the bug, I can't reproduce it anymore. Seriously, it was doing it,
but that may have been on the initial beta (without updates).

The screenshot you added there doesn't show a bug though? Nautilus sorts
folders firsts and then files, is that was is creating the confusion for
you?

I am seeing it right now in my home folder (image attached).

Thank you for your bug report. What locale do you use? On what folder do you
see the issue? Does it happen in /var/log for example?.
I can't confirm the issue here on an uptodate focal installation
