16 years later and *still* no movement on this? Still an issue with Rhythmbox 3.4.4 in Ubuntu 22.04. I wouldn't even be worried if Genre *wasn't* stuck between Artist and Album, which was a strange choice. I did install Alternative Toolbar, and that allowed me to drag and drop in the order I liked,

I've done some out-of-tree work here via my plugin alternative-toolbar. If anybody is interested then install via git on my project - https://github.com/fossfreedom/alternative-toolbar Hopefully those that have sufficient interest will rework this as a proper C patch for rhythmbox itself. cheers
