Title: File roller is very slow to open big archives Status in File Roller: Confirmed Status in file-roller package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: file-roller Hi, I often work with large tar files (2 - 10 GB are backups of my system). File roller always scan the whole archive before opening it. For 2gb it takes 3 minutes to open for 10 gb 15 minutes, for 100gb..... one hour :) It should scan only one directory level in the archive or scan the archive "on the fly" Thanks, Romain http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157827 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/file-roller/+bug/411802/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
