It turns out this was only happening for me with .m4a files. I found the
following at

which fixed the problem for me:
"If anyone else is having a problem like this, you can try deleting
$HOME/.gstreamer-0.10/registry.x86_64.bin (then quit/res
this happens to me occasionaly...I will try and figure out what tracks
they are next time it happens.
