Case in point: my Dell-branded Microsoft Natural Pro keyboard has mismapped volume and play-control keys under every layout I've ever tried. Media keys should appear on the layout images, and there should be a mechanism to easily map them to their correct functions in the keyboard properties applet. For bonus points, USB keyboards should auto-identify.
