But indeed, all GL841-based scanners are showing as unsupported upstream
so the chances are slim.
Have you contacted Canon about the lack of Linux support? Maybe they
listen to their customers?!

sane-find-scanner does see the scanner, but scanimage does not. What
about sudo scanimage -L? Does that show anything? Can you detach the
other scanner ( found USB scanner (vendor=0x147e,
