Reproduced the same bug in 3.3.3-0ubuntu1 via steps from comment #22

Binary package hint: gedit
Normally, gedit is a single instance application, meaning that it is
started only once, and subsequent invocations are merged into the
already running instance.
This bug was fixed in the package gedit - 3.3.3-0ubuntu1
