Public bug reported: I unplugged the power adapter from my laptop with the battery fully charged. 5 minutes later, I plugged it back in, and Gnome immediately informed me that my battery was critically low and prompted me to hibernate my system. The power manager icon in the indicator area read 7 minutes to full charge at the time.
Looks like gnome is confusing time to empty and time to full charge.
