I no longer have this problem as the computer now has a DVI monitor directly connected to the DVI output. When this was an issue, the DVI output connected to a VGA monitor via a DVI-VGA adaptor, because I was using a KVM switch with a second computer with a VGA output. Using the VGA monitor with a
